I think that I generate the most data through social media and Spotify. Social media apps are the most used on my phone with the second being Spotify and then iMessage and so on. Social media is something that is checked throughout the day because it is in some ways like the news; you can see what is going on in the world around you without having to go through the trouble of actually checking the news and it is presented in a more interesting format. Social media connects us to the people we know offline so we can see what is going on in their life at any moment in time no matter how far or how close you are in proximity to them. By browsing these sites I am generating a unique path of my own data that can then be used by these companies to generalize data about different groups of people on different sites. It doesn’t even matter what kind of data because it all leads to different statistical analyses.
